So on Sunday, after celebrating Father's Day lunch at the Stanley pub, I assumed that mum and I would wander around the town taking photos. I thought we might head up to Highfield House and test out our "new" equipment there. But mum and dad had a different idea.
Instead, they took me to Dip Falls - if you haven't been, you need to see it. We've had a lot of rain recently and the noise from the falls was amazing. There is also a small trail to walk where you can check out the Big Tree. And mighty big it is. I completely loved the rainforest there and so want to take the camera along again in summer.
But, I think the best bit was that dad joined in, even walking ahead and then pausing a little bit to indicate to mum and I that a good photo opportunity might be in store. Mum's been "educating" him a bit as to this whole photography malarkey and every now and then he'll comment that a particular landscape might make a good photo. It means a lot to her (and me) that he's joining in, in his own way.
Have you been able to explore a new place locally lately? I'd love to hear about it!
